You know you’re a 90’s child when you played these 5 games.

Do you ever remember these classic games?  Long before DLC and paid content, games were made to last.  How many have you played?  Let us know in the comments!

1: Doom (1993)

The all time classic.  A game so important it single-handedly created a whole genre. Without Doom we wouldn’t have Call of Duty, Battlefield or any other FPS game today.  We have a lot to be thankful for!

2: Final Fantasy VII (1997)

What can be said of FFVII which hasn’t already been said?  A game so epic in scale it spanned 3 discs.  Now, whilst it didn’t create the genre, it certainly had an effect on it – many say that Square (the developers of FFVII) have been trying to recapture the magic of this game ever since it was released.  That may have something to do with why they’re re-releasing it…

3: Super Mario 64 (1996)

Where were you when you first saw Super Mario 64?  It’s arguably one of those gaming moments we all remember, and all cherish!  Having the freedom of movement that came from Mario’s first 3D outing took a little getting used to, but it’s now something of a gaming legend – people still play it and find new secrets in it today!

4: Diablo (1996)

The first PC game on the list (I’m not counting the Playstation one!)  The original Diablo still has a fan following, even to this day – and it seems Blizzard are keen to update it.  There’s been rumours that they’re in the process of updating the old franchises, so watch this space!

5: GoldenEye (1997)

The classic. Still a game that draws sighs and cheers in equal measure. It showed all those doubters that consoles really could do FPS games; also, the multi-player was the bomb – just don’t ever pick OddJob or we’re not friends anymore. 😀
